Skri̽ Stro Hadfow was built using the conventions of Wood Elf durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Skri̽ Stro Hadfow is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Skri̽ Stro Hadfow is buildings are arranged arround a network of broad cobblestone streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The city sits behind a stone-renforced palisade wall, with stone gatehouses and timber drawbridges for their trench. The city's would-be-castle fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the city's defences.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Skri̽ Stro Hadfow, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same god, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its god. More than it loves wealth. The city is very clearly poor. Buildings are run down in ways that are not imeadiatly obvious. The people are a bit too thin. The market is very eager to sell to newcomers, but not so eager to buy from them. There’s also a general lack of the hum and buzz of healthy industry in Skri̽ Stro Hadfow.

History

Skri̽ Stro Hadfow is in secret rebellion against their ostensible liege, having cut deals with his enemies, plotted to betray him for their own gain, or bridled under his tyranny and sought a better lord. The community’s leadership is all in on this plot, and outside viceroys or representatives are being kept carefully ignorant of the reality. The common folk may be oblivious to the truth, though they’ll doubtless have felt the same motivations and promptings that convinced their leaders to turn traitor.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Skri̽ Stro Hadfow was attacked by soldiers from another nation, with orders to raid Skri̽ Stro Hadfow. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Skri̽ Stro Hadfow lost 273 people, 338 livestock, and 71 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 55, when members of Skri̽ Stro Hadfow's militia enacted an operation to patrol a specific area to dissuade the enemy from their current activities. The operation was complicated by freezing cold, such that the troops suffered frostbite. The conflict ended with a last stand against the enemy until a particular event occurred, which ended in victory for Skri̽ Stro Hadfow's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Skri̽ Stro Hadfow's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
